By Verena Veneeva Analyzing consumer behavior is perceived as cornerstone of a successful marketing strategy (Papers4you.com, 2006). Consumer behavior is the mental and emotional processes and the observable behavior of consumers during searching purchasing and post consumption of a product and service(Batra & Kazmi, 2004) . Similarly Engel (et al, 1990) refers consumer behavior as the action and decision process of people who purchase goods and services for personal consumption. Now if these defining criteria are closely observed, it is evident that analyzing consumers decision making process is the foundation of entire notion of consumer behavior There are four different views related to consumer decision making process and behavior (Schiffman & Kanuk, 2004). It is argued that first of them is economic view that consumers are primarily facing imperfect competition and they are always expected to make rational decision on the basis of assumptions that they are aware of all product alternatives, they can rank benefits and limitation of each alternative and are able to identify one best alternative. Second Passive View is absolutely opposite to economic view and suggests that consumers are irrational and impulsive as they are submissive to self-centered interests of marketers and got influenced by marketing tools. Similarly third, Emotional View is related to perceive consumers decision making based on their emotional association or feeling about some products and services. For instance, a person loosing red color specific pen neither go for rational decision by evaluating alternatives ( economic view) nor will the person get influenced by marketers ( passive view). Rather the person will try to purchase any pen closely resembled with his favorite possession. Fourth and arguably most acknowledged view is Cognitive View where consumers are considered as thinking problem solver which are receptive as well as actively searching for the products and services that can fulfill their need. Consumers behavior under this view is based on information seeking and processing attributes usually directed by a goal. For instance, buying a tooth paste from shop can have a certain goal of choosing product that can taste good (Papers4you.com, 2006). Despite of critiques for each viewpoint, it can be considered a valid argument, that all four types of decision making behavior exist and provide marketer guidelines to analyze consumer accordingly. Based on general perception about most acknowledged and common cognitive view, Batra & Kazmi (2004) asserts broader stages of a consumers decision making process that includes problem identification (feeling need of a new car), information search ( on internet and showrooms), evaluation of alternatives (comparing brands, for instance on basis of repute and features), outlet selection and purchase ( purchasing selected item) and post-purchase action (satisfaction or dissonance). The discussion may be concluded on the notion that no matter which view point out of four discussed above is common; it is an imperative fact that marketers have to realize existence of all of them to analyze consumer behavior effectively. Arizona DUI Attorney Fees
By Peter Emerson The attorney fees for DUI offences in Arizona fall in different ranges in a wide variety of structures for different attorneys. There are those that charge a rock bottom fee and those whose fees are much higher. When it comes to choosing an attorney, though, it is not always a good idea to go with the cheapest or most affordable. Attorneys who are good start getting more DUI cases through word of mouth publicity. Instead of getting overextended and not being able to do a good job of their cases, most of these successful DUI attorneys raise their fees and thus take select clients. Those attorneys that charge rock bottom fees are the ones to be wary of. Since their fees are low, they need to take up more and more cases to survive. What this means is that they have less and less time to devote to each case, which may not be the best thing for the client. There are also attorneys who advertise and have a sales team pitching for them. These attorneys too have to take up a lot of cases to meet the expenses involved in advertising and keeping a staff. These attorneys may not have the requisite skills, expertise or attention required to handle a case. One needs to keep in mind that attorneys' ethics prohibit them from entering agreements where the client pays them only if they win the DUI case. Among the many variations to the fees structure available in Arizona, there is the flat fee structure, under which the client pays the full fees upfront, covering the entire range of work. This kind of an agreement is advisable for a client since under such circumstances the onus is upon the attorney to speed up the case in favour of the client so that the attorney can move on to other cases. The other type of fee structure is one where the flat fee is spread over different phases. For example, the attorney may have a flat fee till a jury trial, and once the case proceeds to a trial, he or she will charge an additional fee. The actual cost of hiring an attorney varies. Yet, one can expect an Arizona DUI attorney to charge anywhere between $3,000 to $15,000 for a first time misdemeanour, while the fees increases upwards from $15,000 to even beyond $25,000 for felony DUIs, excluding other costs and expert witness fees. Some attorneys prefer to charge by the hour, with $300 an hour being a common rate. These attorneys seek an upfront retainer, upon which the billing is done. After the exhaustion of the original retainer, the client is asked to replenish it again. There are also some attorneys who adjust their payments based on the financial needs of the client. Arizona DUI Attorneys provides detailed information on Arizona DUI Attorneys, Arizona DUI Fines, Arizona DUI Defense, Arizona DUI Laws and more. Healthy Hair Scalp Massage - Step-By-Step Instructions
By Mike Jones Include a scalp massage as part of your daily personal care regimen to grow and maintain healthy hair. In what way does it help? Hair follicles are amazing little hair production factories which thrive on a constant supply of healthy, oxygenated blood delivered by a circulatory system in good working order. Drawing the nutrients and oxygen needed for new cell creation, these new cells push up through the hair follicle where they eventually die and harden to form new hair. Scalp massage helps maintain a healthy blood circulation so the hair follicles get what they need. Be aware though that regular scalp massage can increase the amount of sebum produced in the hair follicle. Sebum is the natural oil produced by the body to protect the hair. If your hair is very oily you may need to decrease the number of times you do a scalp massage. Here are two scalp massage procedures you can do by yourself for healthy hair maintenance. They are easily done each day while showering and washing the hair. Scalp Massage No. 1: The Friction Massage For this massage use the balls of the fingers (not the finger tips) in rapid movements over the scalp. Move the fingers in circular movements firmly over the whole scalp starting from the front of the head and moving back to the nape of the neck. From the nape of the neck use the same motion to move forward to the front of the head.
This vigorous action will make the scalp tingle and relaxed. Scalp Massage No. 2: The Kneading Massage Use the balls of the fingers of both hands (not the finger tips) and spread them out over the scalp. Press firmly and rotate the skin. Do not move the fingers over the scalp. Rotate the skin in one area then move to another area of the scalp until the whole area is covered. This should be a slow, firm, kneading movement. Rotating Action: The fingers of one hand can move in one direction, e.g. clockwise, and the fingers of the other hand can move in the other direction. Keep the fingers of one hand still while the other rotates and visa versa.
Here is a suggested route: Start at the nape of the neck Then around to the ears Then around to the front hairline Then across the top of the head back to the nape of the neck
This scalp massage is particularly effective in increasing blood circulation as well as in stimulating glands and muscles. Healthy hair is the result of proper diet and exercise to make sure the body is working well on the inside as well as proper care and attention to the scalp and hair on the outside. Perform scalp massage each day and enjoy the benefits with great looking, healthy hair. Mike Jones is a writer, researcher and webmaster with over 10 years experience. A Pain In The Mailbox
By Bobbi Adams Recently was the time of the year for the arrival of what is known as the Epitome of Ego, the Christmas newsletter. Friends (my relatives know better) can't resist sending a lengthy detailed epistle describing everything that happened in their family since January 2006. This ranges from their grandchild's success at potty training to the fact that not only did number-one son get his degree magna cum laude, but there were a few extra cum laudes thrown in. I've had it. This year I am going to send out a newsletter of my own, only this time my letter will tell what's really going on. I'll start with the fact that not only is my grandchild not potty trained, but he displayed this lack while sitting on a counter at J.C. Penney's. My son number one has the distinction of having the largest collection of overdue parking tickets in the state, The only degree he got was fines to the Nth degree. I will also tell them I have gained ten pounds since starting my diet in September and may even include "before and after" photos. I am sure, upon receipt of my newsletter, my friends will endlessly discuss my family's lack of achievements, and may even relegate my composition to the circular file. But I figure my 39 cent investment will send them scurrying to their desks, not to reply with a letter of commiseration, but rather to scratch me off their Christmas newsletter list. Just what I will ask Santa for. Maybe the old guy will come through after all. If you would like to read about family foibles and finding the FUN in dysFUNctional

Simple Solutions for Effective Communication
By Peggy Tsatsoulis Effective communication is the key to great relationships. Incorporate these Top Ten Simple Solutions in order to improve your communication skills and relationships! 1. Commit: Make the commitment to listen and understand when spoken to. Be willing to learn from the speaker. 2. Listen with a Nonjudgemental Ear: Filtering what others say through our own judgements and opinions can cause us to miss vital information. We risk shutting down the communication process, assuming that we know what the speaker is going to say. In addition, we risk hearing the speakers message because we dismiss it before it is fully expressed. 3. Pay attention to Nonverbal Communication: Gestures, tone of voice, and eye contact are examples of nonverbal communication that can enhance your understanding of the speaker's message. 4. Summarize what you have heard: During natural breaks in the conversation, summarize what you have heard to ensure that you have understood the speaker. 5. Maintain good eye contact: Looking at someone in the eyes when they are speaking lets them know you are interested and paying attention. Be aware that different cultures have different rules about eye contact. Where looking individuals in the eye is accepted practice in American culture, it is considered rude or disrescpectful in other cultures. 6. Speak in short chunks: It is difficult for a listener to maintain focus and attention for lenghty speeches. In addition, a lengthy speech may cause the listener to feel as if they are being lectured. Break up your conversation into small chunks allowing natural breaks. This gives the listener an opportunity to offer an opinion or check in for understanding. 7. Use simple language: Stay away from big words and unnecessary jargon. Big words can complicate the message or intimidate your listener causing communication to break down. 8. Take your time: Take your time and think before you speak. It is ok to take a breath or pause during conversation in order to collect your thoughts or clarify your message. Taking a break simply means that you are fully listening and actively participating. 9. Say what you mean and mean what you say: Avoid leaving it up to others to draw conclusions about what you are saying. They may draw the wrong conclusion. Say what you mean. Mean what you say; communicate with integrity. 10. Leave your inhibitions behind: Self doubt and fear can sabotage our attempt to fully express ourselves. Overcome self sabotage by being courageous. Chances are your message is not as trivial, foolish or redundant as you think it is. For more information, questions, or comments visit www.simplycoaching.net. Copyright 2006 Peggy Tsatsoulis. How to Pick Up a Girl: Really Seduce the Woman You Want
By Vince Runza Most guys are at a loss when it comes to the woman they really want. "Seduce" is a nice idea, but what does that really mean? Can they really seduce the woman they want without scamming her? How about "buyer's remorse", either yours or hers? What about learning to seduce more than one woman at a time? Is that really possible? It's just a question of experience. If you have no real experience with the mechanics of meeting really desirable women (the ones you actually want for yourself, not the ones your buddies want), you're going to be as stuck as a kid in algebra with a pop quiz in front of him he never studied for. Trust me, you can't just do the instinctive thing and get it right the first time. More often than not, the instinctive thing is the WRONG THING. Sure, we're susceptible to instinctive behavior, but most of us have screwed up our instincts with social programming, bad advice from others, negative attitudes from rejection, etc. "Just be yourself" is bad advice if you're having an identity crisis, right? It's the same for when you actually seduce the woman you really want. You may not want to hear this, but you need to do field work. You have to get up, massage the waffle print off your butt from sitting at the computer and go talk to some women. More importantly, you have to have an outcome in mind, a specific outcome. Only you know where you are on the path to learning all the steps. There's plenty of information available on what they are, when to take them, how to move along to the next step and close the deal. It's up to you to take the action. Theres a ton of information on seduction online. Some of its good, most of its a waste of your time. If you really want to know how to pick up a girl, follow the lead of a guy whos been an active leader in the Seduction Community since 1999, and knows how to pick up a beautiful woman. Theres no magic secret to it just a proven set of steps you can begin to master RIGHT NOW. Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation by Ronald Reagan
By Johnny Kicklighter In 1983, President Reagan wrote an essay for the Human Life Review entitled, Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation. This brief writing of his pro-life philosophy was published in book form a year later. It was expanded to approximately to 95 pages with lengthy afterwords by Surgeon General C. Everett Koop and British essayist Malcolm Muggeridge. Reagans brief composition is probably one of the better well-argued pro-life essays ever written. It is also significant as it was the first ever by a sitting President. It was President Reagans attempt to awaken a nation to the implications of abortion. In this short book, President Reagan gives an account on how important the issue of abortion is to the conscience of a nation. President Reagan's essay is only 26 pages of the book, but it is well structured. He believed that diminishing the life of the unborn diminishes the value of all human life. He tackled the pro-abortion "quality of life" argument and compared it to the Dred Scott slavery issue. Reagan likened the pro-abortion argument to slavery and drew parallels between the Roe vs. Wade decision and the Dred Scot decision that divided America over a century earlier. According to Reagan, the quality of life argument is an argument for quality control of the population. Reagan surmises that legalized abortion is a very slippery slope. He says that unborn babies are being killed because they are simply not wanted or come at an inconvenient time. He also states that many are killed because they will be unable to lead a normal life as the result of birth defects. Such babies are considered to be of less value and thus denied human rights. He claims this denial of human rights is accomplished by activist judges who frame the interpretation of the US Constitution through the lens of their own pro-abortion beliefs. Reagan believes that the arbitrary evaluation of unborn lives must stop. He states that this philosophy will lead to further the crimes of infanticide and illustrates this by citing the Indiana case of "Baby Doe." Baby Doe was allowed to starve to death because the child had Down's syndrome. The essence of Reagans argument is that no nation can survive and prosper when a group of individuals look at a child and declare whether that child has value as a human being. Reagan goes on to say, "Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some men could decide that others were not fit to be free and should therefore be slaves. Likewise, we cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide. My Administration is dedicated to the preservation of America as a free land, and there is no cause more important for preserving that freedom than affirming the transcendent right to life of all human beings, the right without which no other rights have any meaning." The pro-life movement will not be disappointed with Reagan's essay, and will conclude that it contains very powerful and logical anti-abortion arguments. Johnny Kicklighter is a charter contributor to the Metro East Pregnancy Care Center, Fairview Heights, Illinois. How To Find Your Dream Job
By Adrian Savage Here's the bottom line: many people work in jobs that aren't what they want or are less than they deserve. It's partly the pull of inertia (better the devil you know...)and partly lack of confidence, but mostly the fear their dream job doesn't exist -- or they couldn't land it if it does. Most settle for second or third (or fourth, or fifth) best and try to get on with their lives, secretly cherishing the
dream of something better. It doesn't have to be like that. You can take practical steps to
turn that dream into reality. Here are some practical steps that to send you on your way. 1. Look for "Upgrade Roles" Upgrade Roles act as stepping stones towards your dream position, moving you forward -- maybe not all the way -- while you continue looking for that dream position. Think of them as steps on the ladder. 2. Keep up Your Enthusiasm If the right opportunity comes up, you need to be ready. That
means building your resume and polishing your track record to
make you the obvious choice It also means being on top form, whene chance hands you the golden ticket. You can't fake enthusiasm. If your motivation sags, you won't
have the "get up and go" needed to get that dream job. Focus on the positives. No one hires depressives. 3. Tighten Your Focus The trouble with dreams is they're fuzzy: all misty images of joyfulness and "happy ever after" endings. That's fine for day-dreaming, but it won't work to get results. You need to know exactly what you want -- in detail -- if you're going to see how to get to it. A lot of so-called dream jobs are simply fantasies. If your dream job isn't a practical, hard-nosed possibility, set it aside and try a few others on for size. Don't fixate on a single dream until you've proved it's possible. If you're below average height, fixating on being a professional basketball player is an illusion. 4. Look for Opportunities Others Miss There are hidden opportunities in every situation. If the fast track looks inviting, remember obvious opportunities attract the most competition. See if you can find a less obvious path where there are fewer people competing with you. 5. Keep an Open Mind You're looking for your dream job, not whatever the media have decided to push this week. And what's a dream for you may not even be noticed by the high-profile "whiz- kids" who often go up like a rocket and come down like the stick. Focus on what's best for you whether that's fashionable or not. 6. He (and She) Who Dares, Wins You'll never find your dream job without taking risks. The trick
is to avoid risking everything. Fear of failure and its imagined consequences is probably the strongest force that holds people in jobs they don't really enjoy and that use only a little of their abilities. Be bold! 7. Be Ready For Trade-offs Sit down and make a list of what you really want in a job. Not just the kind of work and the atmosphere around you, but also all the benefits and whatever else would make that job wonderful.
Put them in order of priority, from those you really couldn't do without to those you'd love, but could manage to let go. You may never find a job that matches your list 100%. It may not even exist. But hey ... 90% (or even 80%) of your dream may be a whole lot better than you have now. 8. Learn How to Toot Your Own Horn No one likes a braggart, but no one notices someone who never
brings his or her accomplishments to the fore. People generally take you at your own estimation. If you present yourself as ordinary, that's how they'll see you. If you come across as confident, able and a good kind of person to know, they'll believe that's what you are. Act the part of your dream job long before you land it. Be seen to be part of the group from whom the person for that dream job will be chosen. 9. Find a Mentor This is probably the single most effective action you can take to
land that dream job. If you can find someone who knows the ropes
(and the people involved) to take you under his or her
wing, you've dramatically improved your prospects. A mentor can smooth the way for you, help you avoid the pitfalls
and show you how to show yourself to the best advantage. Best of all, a mentor can make sure the right people hear about you. It's human nature to look seriously at a recommendation that comes from a trusted source. If you go forward with the right approval and support, your path will be smoother all the way. If you do nothing else today to start your progress towards that
dream job, get started on finding yourself a mentor. You'll never
regret it. Adrian W. Savage writes for people who want help with the daily dilemmas they face at work. brings his or her accomplishments to the fore.
How To Make A Wedding Bouquet That Is Interesting And Unusual
By Peta Fletcher Have you ever noticed how most bouquets look the same? Sure, they look beautiful,
but they don't really have much variety. They usually contain flowers and some type of greenery. But who ever said that bouquets only had to contain flowers and greenery? Why can't they contain something a bit more exciting? Like what? I can hear you asking. Well you can try anything really, it is only limited by your imagination. Most brides spend hours thinking about what flowers they want in their bouquets
and then what flowers they want as accents to the focal flower. I wonder what what would happen if they had something else to choose from,
instead of just flowers? Does the person you are making the bouquet for have a favourite thing that they
would love to carry down the isle? You should always ask your bride what they would like in their bouquet because it
doesn't have to be flowers. There are plenty of other things you can add, such as:
- toy cars
- toy trains
- toy aeroplanes
- miniature teddy bears
- small dolls
- plastic horses, cats, dogs, or birds Some other things you could add include candy, chocolates, bubble gum, fruit,
vegetables, cup cakes etc. For my own wedding, I am adding lollipops to my
bouquet! You probably think I've gone mad! But trust me, people liked to have choice and
they like to feel that they are different and unusual! And adding interesting objects to the bouquet can be a good way to get the groom more involved with the wedding. For example, if the groom is a pilot, or likes cars,
how about adding some toy planes or toy cars to the bouquet? This is sure to get
him more involved! Not all brides will want to do this, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have more choice! And just because you are adding a few different things doesn't mean you still can't
have flowers. All you do is combine the two, for example, you could have seven
teddy bears and nine roses. It's really up to the person getting married. As you know, weddings can be very stressful and taxing. So why not lighten things
up a little and give people something to talk about for years to come? Peta Fletcher has been making bouquets for over 14 years. Her website has

as well as lots of free information on making your own bouquets, including details (and pictures) on how to make a candy bouquet. You Can't Climb to Success Unless Someone Is Holding the Ladder
By John Carvana No one, I repeat, no one gets to a level of fame, fortune and notoriety by themselves. Everyone needs someone to help them achieve greatness. Michael Jordan was the star, but he needed his team mates in order to win. Behind every great performer (and not so great performer) there are managers, promoters, publicists and more all standing in their shadow doing what needs to be done to move their star even higher. My role as a career coach is to hold your ladders as you climb to your desired level of success. That ladder is constructed and strengthened by an effective resume, strong networking and research skills and reinforced by interview tips that are honed to achieve results. You, however, determine what it is you intend to reach at the summit of that ladder. If you want to be successful, then find someone who is doing what you want to do (or is doing something very similar) and latch onto their coattails. If you dont have a mentor, then get one. Why reinvent the wheel when you can access someone who has already gone down that road? Are you afraid of being considered a pest? Well, thats just an excuse. The fact is, successful people enjoy lending their time to others who are serious about getting what they want out of life. Keep in mind that no man is an island and no one ever gets to the top without someone elses help. John P. Carvana is a certified Life Purpose and Career Coach. With almost thirty years as a career service practitioner, John has assisted hundreds of individuals in career transition. He is the president and founder of LPF Consulting and can be contacted at http://www.discoveredpurpose.com He also serves as the director of career services at the University of the Pacific.

Avail Finance Through Personal Loans
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ruth_Stanhop]Ruth Stanhop Personal loans are designed for fulfilling your personal requirements. Personal loans are used for numerous purposes like for home improvement, higher education, debt consolidation, buying a car, holidays, etc. Apart from the personal requirements as mentioned above, personal loans can also be used for business purposes. There are two main basic categories of personal loans which are secured and unsecured personal loans. The basic differences between these two are collateral. Secured personal loans require collateral as security, unlike unsecured personal loans where no security is required. In case of secured personal loans, lenders offer a large amount of money. The loan amount depends largely upon the value of the property plus the equity. But borrowers get large sum as compared to unsecured loans. Borrowers also face the risk of repossession of their property in case of defaults in repayment. All borrowers look for loans having lower interest rate. Lenders offer secured personal loans at low rate of interest and with a longer repayment period. In case of unsecured personal loans, though lenders do not require collateral but they offer loans at comparatively high rate of interest. [http://www.loans-bazaar.co.uk/loans_help.html ]Unsecured loans do not have any risk of repossession. Borrowers with bad credit record can also apply for personal loans. Personal loans offer a large sum but it is preferable to calculate the amount you require. Taking loans larger than the required may cause problems like debt burden, bad credit, etc. Gratify all your needs and demands with personal loans. Benefits and Requirements of the Thrift Savings Plan
By Tara Crooks Weve all been hearing about it, TSP, so what is it? The TSP, or Thrift Savings Plan, is a retirement savings plan for civilians who are employed by the United States Government and members of the uniformed services. This plan is similar to a 401(k) retirement plan used by the private sector. So why would you choose to invest in TSP? There are several reasons to choose the TSP for your retirement savings. Some of those include but are not limited to: You save money on income taxes.
You have a choice of 5 investment funds.
All of the money you have deducted from your pay goes into your investment account, and no income tax is deducted.
You don't pay the tax until you withdraw money, usually during retirement.
Contributions of your tax-exempt combat or hazardous-duty pay retain their tax-exempt status, so you won't pay tax on this money, even when you withdraw it.
If you need access to your money, you can borrow from your TSP at a low rate of interest.
Personal loans can be for up to five years.
Loans to purchase your residence can be for up to 15 years.
Your loan is repaid through payroll deductions; it's like borrowing from yourself.
TSP offers in-service withdrawals for financial hardship, or after age 59.
You are given a choice of post-separation withdrawal options.
You are given the ability to transfer money from other eligible retirement savings plans into your TSP account. So how do I start investing in a TSP now? Investing in TSP is fairly simple. If you have access to your MYPAY account you can do this online at www.mypay.gov. You may also elect to do this with your Unit Finance Office by filling out a TSP-U-1 form. To calculate your contribution (per paycheck) to the TSP, multiply your paycheck by the percentage you wish to contribute. For example, if you wish to contribute 1% of 1000.00 you would be contributing 10.00 per month to the TSP. You might consider investing all of the following to produce a nice nest egg for your future bonus pay, special duty pay, extra pay from non-taxation etc. You can earmark a portion (up to 100 percent) of these extra pays to go directly to the TSP. It's a smart use of extra money. If you can't put it all in, consider putting in half. Remember, you cannot participate with your extra pay unless you also have some contribution coming out of your base pay, so consider starting small, if need be. There are a few things to remember, should you need to withdraw from your TSP. Any time you take money from your fund, you are taking money out of your retirement. So really think about it before you withdraw and consider any and all other options. Before you take out money, you might consider taking a loan from the plan. You would be paying yourself back through payroll deductions, and essentially borrowing from yourself. Remember should you have to make a withdrawal; you must pay taxes and possible penalties. If you have specific questions regarding the Thrift Savings Plan or your TSP account, you can find all your answers on the TSP.gov home page. Their number is (504)255-8777. The Swan on the Chopping Block
By Tonya Zavasta When Anderson wrote The Ugly Duckling, he was imagining a natural transformation from awkward youth to mature beauty. His vision did not include a meat cleaver. The new network show, The Swan is a travesty on so many levels that it is difficult to know where to begin. There is nothing wrong with using cosmetic surgery to correct a definitive flaw but to turn yourself over to megalomaniacs with scalpels is cause for more therapy than these women are receiving. It is unconscionable that television should even consider anything so potentially damaging. However, the women who allow themselves to be the golden goose (to mix metaphors) are equally to blame. What sane women would with good conscience turn herself over to strangers without having any input into what is being done. The Swan reflects societys superficial attitude towards cosmetic surgery as a cure all for everything from natural aging to an unhealthy lifestyle. It is not enough that millions of baby boomers are already flocking to cosmetic surgeons to graft an artificial spring over a natural winter, now they are fiercely promoting the idea to much younger women even in those in their 20s who admittedly should look far better than they do but could substitute restraint for butchery to improve themselves without outside help. Taking individual responsibility is a far healthier solution to the problem A healthy person always looks 10 to 20 years younger than her peers. While many women would give anything for beauty, there is one thing that should never be sacrificed --health. Health and beauty are connected vessels: if you steal from one, you steal from the other. Your inner and outer body are two sides of the same coin. If the colors and forms of your body are changing outwardly, do not be mistaken, for they are also changing inwardly. If surgery is needed on the outside, it might be an indication that surgery will soon be needed on the organs inside as well. Often, the exterior flaws that can be corrected by cosmetic surgery are the result of much more serious internal problems. If the cause is not addressed, the problem will recur. Cosmetic surgery will not make you younger. Any surgery drastically ages your body. In fact, biologically, you will get older. Facelifts and associated procedures do take years off your face temporarily but add years to your body permanently. Is it worth undergoing 10 to 12 hours of consecutive procedures, exhausting your body, and endangering your life for superficial changes that can largely be obtained through a healthy, disciplined lifestyle? Think about the images of how the skin was separated from the underlying tissue; how it was lifted back and tightened; how excess skin was trimmed away; and the ear-to-ear incision was closed with surgical staples. Once seen, it is impossible to forget the sight of how the skin was torn or burned, how fat was sucked up, and how foreign materials were implanted. Since beauty in its natural state requires no force or coercion, the procedures are so gross that its difficult to perceive the final result as artistic. Beauty is incompatible with pain and horror. No matter how widely accepted cosmetic surgery is, it will never be separated from the terrible ordeal the subject endured. Facelifts do not last forever and the negative effects cannot be completely undone. I am asking you to give a new lifestyle a try. You might be surprised how few faults you see in yourself that you are willing to allow someone else to correct. The results will be so astonishing, you just might like yourself the way you are about to become. Beauty, health, and youthfulness are all connected. Your guide for deciding if you are doing the right thing should be--when you gain one, are the others victims? There is no natural beauty without 100% natural food. The lack of beauty, especially in people over forty, is the result of the consumption of devitalized and denatured foods. Cooked food depletes the body's enzyme reserves and damages its rejuvenating power. On the hand, the Rawsome Diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds in their raw state will help your body to make the most of its revitalizing abilities. By restoring the integrity of every cell and by facilitating the operation of every organ, it will bring your weight to its ideal mark, refine your features and add delicacy to your face. 2004 Tonya Zavasta About The Author Tonya Zavasta is the author of the book Your Right to Be Beautiful: How to Halt the Train of Aging and Meet the Most Beautiful You and of the soon to be published its sequel Beautiful on Raw. In these books Tonya comes across as an ambassador for plain looking women in their quest for physical beauty. Tonya knows firsthand what it is to be humiliated, face adversity and meet the complex obstacles of daily living with a congenital disability. In her forties facing several reconstructive hip surgeries to enable her to walk, she sought a way to offset the devastating effects of anesthetics on her health and appearance. She became convinced that the solution to her quest for health and beauty was to be found in the raw food lifestyle or the Rawsome Diet as she calls it. Art Of Seduction, Seducing Women
By Cher Sern Lim When all is said and done about dating women there is one main goal in a mans mind. How do I get laid? Getting women to go out with you is one thing, seducing women into your bed is a different story altogether. But as with flirting and dating it can be done if you know how the art of seduction works. In a sense seduction is about making a connection with the woman that you are trying to seduce. Get her attention and make her want more from you. When you are flirting or bantering with her start moving the topics along into the sexual territory. Get her aroused and interested subconsciously so that when you make your move she will be naturally willing to go with you. Another seduction technique you can try out is to just flat out arouse her and make her horny for sex. The reasoning behind this is simple, when women are aroused they will most likely want to have sex with whoever is making her horny and that would be you! Now one of the ways of seducing women into wanting to have sex is to actually talk about it. Getting her to just talk about it is sometimes not enough, you have to somehow convince her to visualize it. You can try to do so by discussing fantasy stories about what shed like to do or what kind of fantasies shed like to act out. The art of seduction also includes turning the most innocent of discussions into something with sexual undertones. Seducing women is all about getting them to think about having sex and that way, shell have thoughts about wanting to have sex with you! And sometimes, being subtle is the best way to go about doing this. Instead about talking about sex openly and possibly disgusting her you can try to talk about other topics at hand while inserting suggestive words like hard or coming or penetrate. And sometimes the best seduction techniques are also the most obvious. Try talking about how great sex can be when you have two people getting together for a purely sexual experience with no strings attached. Get her thinking about how people should be able to share and live out their sexual fantasies without being judged and you might seduce her into thinking that its her great idea of having sex with you! Visit http://www.datingartist.com now to get more FREE tips to double your dating success overnight! Discover the players secrets to meeting, dating & seducing women. How WLS Patients Defeat Ourselves: Learning to Play Ball
By Kaye Bailey I have a dog, Andie, who loves to play fetch. When he hears me say, "Lets play ball!" he is beside himself with joy jumping, wiggling and hopping. I take that tired old tennis ball and throw it as far as I can. In short order he is back to me ball in mouth and tail wagging. And thats the end of the game because Andie cannot bring himself to drop the ball for me to throw again. I tell him, "Andie! I cannot throw a ball with a dog wrapped around it." He wags his tail and waits. Andie is his own worst enemy. By wrapping himself around the ball he prohibits himself from actively being engaged in the game he so loves. As a matter of course I believe WLS people become our own worst enemies now and again we wrap ourselves around the ball (WLS) and impede our own progress and joy in the game of living well. Handwritten on my calendar January 2002 there are 24 frowning faces. That means for 24 of the 31 days that month I was sick (vomiting or dumping). That month was a test of will: me against my gastric bypass surgery. In hindsight I believe I engaged in self-destructive behavior to prove once and for all that WLS was a punishment and I the victim. Night after night I prepared meals with known culprits: rice, starch and sugar. Night after night I sat to the table and told my husband, "I sure hope I dont get sick tonight." And then I would deliberately eat too much to fast and rush headfirst into the bathroom to hurl. If I didnt vomit surely I would dump from creamy dairy sauces or "just this once" desserts that I ate because I deserved them; after all, victims deserve a special treat to soothe their suffering. So there I was, 28 months out of surgery maintaining a healthy weight and I wrapped myself around the ball (WLS). I was my own worst enemy I wish I knew what "clicked" and how I learned to drop the ball and enjoy the game. On the February 2002 calendar there is but one frowning face drawn. Perhaps turning the calendar page allowed me to start fresh. Maybe my husband gave me some well-deserved tough love and said you cannot continue to destroy yourself this way. Perhaps I was just sick of being sick and I surrendered to the surgery; I quit wrapping myself around the ball (WLS). If I did in fact surrender, dare I say it was sweet surrender? When I accepted the parameters of the lifestyle surgery imposes and when I stopped trying to outsmart the surgery I was liberated from being a victim and became an empowered survivor. My goodness! I had survived the medical condition of obesity; personally chosen my lifesaving treatment and now had this wonderful healthy life to live. So what if I couldnt eat a few foods I used to love? So what if I had to eat in a slow deliberate manner? So what if I never felt the familiar old comfort of food gluttony? None of these things mattered any more when I became actively engaged in living a healthy life. Now, I would love to sit here on my high horse and tell you since that dark January 2002 Ive never engaged in self-destructive behavior, but that would be dishonest. There are many frowning faces marked on the calendar between then and now. The good news is they show up less frequently and never day after day. Unfortunately, some days I am my own worst enemy. For example, last Thursday (August 11, 2005) I ran the daily errands and while at the supermarket purchased a giant frosted chocolate brownie. My intent was to eat it when I arrived home while I worked on this very newsletter. Can you imagine writing a newsletter about WLS while eating a giant frosted chocolate brownie? Insanity! I justified that with my husband out of town and me feeling lonely I deserved the comfort of a delicious brownie and if I did get sick nobody would ever need to know; it would be my little secret. Remember, Im a former sneak eater. By the time I arrived home I was so disgusted and angry with myself I immediately unwrapped the brownie and chucked it in the big curbside garbage container to be contaminated and inedible. I knew better than to eat it, but I also knew I had to render it inedible to get it out of my thoughts. I never tasted one crumb of that brownie. I am both ashamed and proud of this moment. Ashamed that I actually bought the brownie with the intent to "comfort" myself to sickness. But I am proud I stopped short of doing just that. So here I sit on my humble horse bearing the truth; occasionally Kaye Bailey a self-proclaimed WLS success - still engages in self-destructive behavior. I have come far from the harmful behavior of January 2002, but I have a long way to go. Id love to say there is a magic finishing line which when we cross we never wrap ourselves around the ball again. But it just doesnt exist. Weight loss surgery is for life. It takes constant vigilance and self-monitoring to ensure we are survivors, not victims. To myself I say, "Kaye! You cannot succeed with WLS when you wrap yourself around it. Lets Play Ball!" Now, if we could just get Andie to quit wrapping himself around the ball life would be bliss! Arthritis: Benefits of a Natural Approach
By Judy Phillips It is not uncommon for an arthritis sufferer to have varying degrees of more than one type of arthritis. Regardless of the type of arthritis, the end result is pain and inflammation at the sight of affliction. This fact has led to the popularity of over-the-counter and prescription medications to combat inflammation, and thus diminish pain. Medicines such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs come with long term side effects, including a worsening of the arthritic condition. They work by interfering with hormone-like compounds called prostaglandins. For decades, medical researchers, including those with the Arthritis Foundation itself, refused to acknowledge that diet, nutrition, and allergies could play a role in immune function and arthritis. Today however, studies have shown that arthritis can be reversible, and in some cases, curable with proper diet, supplements, and lifestyle changes. These changes can not only relieve the inflammation and pain but stop degeneration and rejuvenate the affected joints. Unlike toxic drugs, natural therapies and diet modification can often provide relief from chronic inflammation and pain. One of the most compelling reasons for using natural therapies in arthritic conditions is that while some drugs can cause cartilage destruction, natural therapies correct the underlying factors involved in arthritic cartilage degeneration. Natural therapies have been shown to perform by the following mechanisms:
Attracting water to the cartilage locations to enhance synovial lubrication. Inhibiting COX-2 (enzyme responsible for prostaglandins and inflammation) Suppressing cartilage-destroying enzymes, collagenase and phospholipase Suppressing TNF-alpha, IL-1b, and IL-6 (cytokines, responsible for systemic inflammation and hypersensitivity) Inhibiting the formation of PE2 (inflammatory compound) Promoting the synthesis of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans in the joints Reducing production of LTB4 (facilitates IL-1b and IL-6) The principle keys for treating and preventing arthritis is proper diet and nutrition, detoxification, stress reduction and exercise. As it is with most programs, there is no single treatment that is right for everyone. Since there are different forms of arthritis, there is not a single prescription that will help all sufferers. The treatment needs to be tailored to fit the individual. It is for this reason that we would like to provide the different modalities that are available and that have had great success with arthritis. Alternative Allergy and Hay Fever Treatments: Allergy Nosodes
By Denice Moffat Can I get another bottle of this? Im out, it works great, and allergy season is here. My clients ask, as they hold up the tell-tale little brown bottle with its yellow label. I use these products. I thought at first that I was manifesting a placebo affect because these products worked so well, but over the years, clients have come in every other year or so just to pick up a bottle of Tree Mix I or Tree Mix II when they run out. I never see them any other time. A bottle lasts anywhere from one month to two years depending on what you are trying to manage, how much you need and how short the exposure is. They work for both humans and their pets.
My favorite homeopathic allergy remedies come from Professional Complementary Health Formulas. The remedies are called allersodes. Allersodes are homeopathic drops that minutely stimulate the immune system to recognize, glom onto, and expel the allergy-causing organism from the body, usually through the kidneys, skin or bowels. These particular allersodes contain homeopathics to support the adrenal gland and liver as well. I think that is one reason why they work so well. The dosage is normally 17 drops three times daily for acute situations and 15 drops daily for chronic allergies. Here are a few of the remedies my clients and I have utilized over the years for various allergies causing skin problems, rhinitis, itchy eyes, irritability, asthma, depression, feelings of spaciness, and a bundle of other symptoms: Flower Mixfor allergies to Aster, Camellia, Carnation, Chrysanthemum, Daffodil, Daisy, Daphne, Gardenia, Gentian, Gladiola, Honeysuckle, Iris, Lilac, Lily, Larkspur, Lupine, Marigold, Oleander, Pansy, Petunia, Peony, Poppy, Rose, Snapdragon, and Tulips. Household Dust & Moldsfor allergies to Black Mold, Grain Dust, House Mold, House Dust, Lint, Mattress Dust, Mildew Dust, Paper Dust, Rug Dust, Upholstery Dust, Yeast (Bakers/Brewers) and Dust Mites. Grain & Seed Mixfor allergies to Barley, Corn, Cotton Seed, Flax Seed, Gliadin (whatever that is), Gluten, Millet, Milo, Oat, Poppy Seed, Rice (Brown/White), Rye, Safflower, Sesame, Sorghum, Soybean, Sunflower and Wheat. Grass & Weed Mixfor allergies to Alfalfa, Amaranth, Bamboo, Chenopodium, Cocklebur, Dandelion, Fox Tail, Grease Wood, June Grass, Johnson Grass, Kapok, Lambs Quarters, Marsh Elder, Mugwort, Pampas Grass, Pigweed, Ragweed-Tansy, Sage, Scale (All Scale/ Wingscale/ Lenscale), Scotch Broom, Sheep Sorrel, Yellow Dock, Red Top, Meadow Fescue, Sweet Vernal, Kentucky Blue, Orchard, Perineal Rye, Timothy, Red Clover, White Clover, Goldenrod, Velvet Grass, and Thistle. Tree Mix Ifor allergies to Alder, Ash, Birches, Cedars, Cottonwoods, Cypresses, Elms, Firs, Hemlock, Hickories, Junipers, Maples, Mulberries, Western Oaks, Eastern Oaks, Pines, Redwood, and Spruces. Tree Mix IIfor allergies to Acacia, Aspen, Bay, Elder, Eucalyptus, Fig, Flowering Apple, Flowering Cherry, Lilac, Magnolia, Mesquite, Oleander, Olive, Pepper, Privet, Sycamore, Tulip, and Willow. I wouldnt be without them. I think youll like them, too. Kidney Stone Remedy
By Sam Chandler As I drove towards this stranger's house I could not help but reflect back upon the circumstances that had led me to this place in my life. I had a kidney stone that was raging inside me causing me more pain than I could ever recollect having. I had used up my last pain killer and there wasn't a country doctor within a 10 hour drive. And the gas station attendant had suggested I go see this woman who the local folk all went to with their medical ailments. When I got to the point in the highway where I was to turn off all that was there was a small dirt road. The road led into the back swamp lands. I followed the road for a solid 10 minutes before I came to a tiny little house. And on the porch of that house sat the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She had a head of long silver hair that flowed down her back. She must have been 80 years old but the beauty that emitted from this woman was a sight for sore eyes. You've heard of that quality called 'inner beauty' - well, this woman was the personification of that quality. I got out of my car and began to introduce myself but the lady put a finger to her lips to shush me. She took me by the arm and I could feel a dynamic presence in her touch. She led me inside to her parlor and sat me at a table. She poured me a cup of warm herbal tea and she sat down across from me and held my hand. I felt that I had known this lady my whole life but this was the first time I had ever laid eyes on her. She began talking to me with this lyrical southern drawl and I hung on her every word. She talked and she talked and what she talked about seemed to be the most important things in the world to me, but, to this very day I cannot remember a single word that she spoke? After an hour of her sweet southern oration she stopped talking as if she had grown tired. She took a pen out and asked me for a piece of paper. On the piece of paper she wrote in beautiful flowing penmanship a list with directions. She then handed me the piece of paper. I looked at the piece of paper and then I looked at her puzzled? She told me that on that piece of paper was a kidney stone remedy that would cure my kidney stone problem. I looked at her in shock. I had not spoken a single word to her let alone told her of my kidney stone problem. She just smiled at me and led me to the front door. (c) All rights reserved.
